The Great Lotus Stupa complex with its central stupa, gardens and residential structures within the property was conceived in the pattern of the buddhist 'mandala'. Designed for Tara Foundation in Lumbini, the complex is based on Vastupurusha (the deity of edifice) enclosed within the plot and the function zoned within the plot as per Vastuchakra. The stupa located at the center rises 116 ft. above the ground and is supported by the structural principle used to support the Eiffel Tower of France.
